It shows you why competitors show up ahead of you in AI answers, and what to change on your site to catch them. Cyte tracks how you and your competitors appear in ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini and the other AI engines. It reads your website, your competitors' websites and the outside sources the engines cite, compares them, watches competitors for changes, and gives your marketing team a short list of specific things to change each day. Behind it, Cyte runs thousands of AI agents for every customer, around the clock, on competitor analysis. The agents watch, compare and suggest; your team does the marketing. **Who it is for:** marketing teams at B2B companies whose buyers ask AI for vendor recommendations, and the agencies that serve them. **What makes it different:** other tools in the category report a visibility score. Cyte connects three things: how AI answers describe each brand, what is actually on each brand's website, and what changed on a competitor's site and when. That is what lets it say what to do, not only where you stand. **The loop:** Track, Compare, Detect, Act. **AI engines tracked (7):** ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, DeepSeek, Grok and Google AI Overviews. **Founder:** Haris Samardžić (Einzelunternehmer, trading as SamHaris.AI). **Founded:** 2026. **Operator:** EU business. **Data residency:** EU (Frankfurt). **Applicable law:** German law. **CISG excluded.** ### Facts - Tracks 7 AI engines: ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, DeepSeek, Grok and Google AI Overviews. - Scores every answer 0–100 per brand with a public formula (see Methodology). - Competitor teardown: for each competitor, why they are ahead today and what you are missing, written from the AI answers and both websites, with the evidence shown and a confidence level. - Topics: a map of topics by site, including "covered by competitors, not by you", and for each such topic a verdict on whether it is worth pursuing. - Changes: a ranked feed of competitor site changes. The default view is the few that matter; the rest is one click away, including what was filtered out. - Ideas: a few per day, never repeated. Each has an action brief (what to build or change, what it must contain, a checklist). On a day with nothing worth showing, Cyte says so. - Outcome tracking: after an idea is marked done, Cyte re-checks the related prompts at 7, 14, 28 and 42 days. - Honesty about cause: a link between a change and a score movement is shown as an observation with its evidence and a confidence level. Cyte never claims a change caused a ranking. - Industry knowledge: Cyte reads what the AI platforms publish about crawling and citations every day and keeps its recommendations current. Platform statements and practitioner opinion are kept apart. - Site audit of your own site: llms.txt, robots rules for AI crawlers, schema markup, page-level audits. - Weekly digest email. In-app notifications for major competitor changes. - Bring your own API keys. - Status: version 0.9. Public pricing from €799 a month (annual billing) at https://cyte.si/pricing. A free trial is on request at https://cyte.si/trial. - People: video guides for every step on every plan; onboarding with the team and a dedicated contact on Enterprise. ### What Cyte does not do - It does not write articles, posts or drafts. The nearest thing is the action brief, which is an outline and a checklist, not content. - It does not generate Reddit, LinkedIn or other platform posts. - It does not guarantee a lift. It measures what happened afterwards and says how confident the link is. - Social media tracking is not built. It is planned. --- ## Methodology — how the Cyte Score works Source page: https://cyte.si/methodology The Cyte Score is a 0–100 score calculated per brand, per prompt, per AI engine. **Formula (additive, transparent):** 1. **Base 35 points** — awarded for any mention of the brand in the AI engine's answer. Not mentioned: score 0. 2. **Position bonus** — up to +28 points based on where the brand appears in a ranked list. - Position #1: +28 - Position #2: +22 - Position #3: +17 - Position #4: +13 - Position #5: +9 - Any position after that: +4 3. **Frequency bonus** — up to +18 points if the brand is mentioned multiple times. Formula: (mention_count − 1) × 4, capped at 18. 4. **Sentiment adjustment** — based on how the AI engine describes the brand. - Positive: +12 - Mixed: +3 - Negative: −8 - Negation-aware: "not the best" is correctly scored negative. 5. **Clamp:** the result is capped at 0–100. Worked example: named first, mentioned three times, described positively: 35 + 28 + 8 + 12 = 83. Citations are tracked separately, not as a score component. **AI engines tracked:** - ChatGPT - Claude - Perplexity - Gemini - DeepSeek - Grok - Google AI Overviews Model versions are refreshed as providers release new generations. New models are added when they reach meaningful market share in AI-search behavior. **Run frequency:** depends on the plan: weekly on Core, daily ranking from Plus, and up to 50 prompts asked daily on Pro and Agency. See https://cyte.si/pricing. A "run" is one execution of all your tracked prompts against every AI engine Cyte supports. **How Cyte treats cause:** a link between a competitor's change and a score movement is shown as an observation with its evidence and a confidence level. The level is set by rule. The highest level needs all of the following: the movement is on an AI engine that searches the web; the movement is beyond twice the normal run-to-run variation and sustained over at least two runs; the changed page is cited in the answers; and nothing else changed in the same period. Cyte never states that a change caused a ranking. **Outcome checks:** after an idea is marked done, Cyte re-checks the related prompts at 7, 14, 28 and 42 days and shows whether visibility moved. --- ## How it works — the four steps in order Source page: https://cyte.si/how ### 1. Track Your buyer-intent prompts run across the AI engines. For every answer Cyte records whether you and each competitor are mentioned, in what position, how you are described, and which pages are cited. Buyer-intent prompts are the queries your buyers actually type: "best [category] for [use case]", "alternatives to [competitor]", "[your brand] vs [competitor]", "is [your brand] worth it". Cyte generates an initial prompt set from your domain, and you can add or remove any. ### 2. Compare Cyte reads your site and each competitor's site and compares them at three levels: - **Site against site** — page types, depth, structure, AI readiness. - **Topic against topic** — what a competitor's page on a topic has that yours lacks. - **One topic across every site** — who owns it, where you are missing. ### 3. Detect Competitor sites are re-read on a schedule. Cyte filters out the noise and surfaces the changes that matter: pricing, positioning, new comparison pages, new content on topics you do not cover. ### 4. Act Each day a short list of specific ideas for your own site, each with its evidence and a brief you can hand to a writer or developer. A brief is an outline and a checklist; your team does the writing. When you mark an idea done, later runs show whether your visibility moved, with checks at 7, 14, 28 and 42 days. --- ## Beyond the loop — supporting capabilities ### Sources AI engines cite specific pages. Cyte tracks every cited domain across every run and classifies it (Editorial, UGC, Corporate, Competitor). You see which sources cite competitors but not you. ### Site audit An audit of your own site: llms.txt, robots rules for AI crawlers, schema markup, and page-level audits. ### Industry knowledge Cyte reads what the AI platforms publish about crawling and citations every day and keeps its recommendations current. Platform statements and practitioner opinion are kept apart. ### Digest and notifications A weekly digest email, and in-app notifications for major competitor changes. ### Planned Social media tracking is not built. It is planned. --- ## Pricing Source page: https://cyte.si/pricing Cyte is at version 0.9 and sold publicly to a small number of customers. An agent task is one AI job: reading a page, asking one engine one prompt, comparing two pages, drafting a suggested improvement. The agents watch, compare and suggest. They do not do the marketing: no design, no ads, no campaigns, no posting. **BYO (Bring Your Own) API keys:** plug in your own OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Perplexity, or DeepSeek key. Each connected provider drops out of any run cap — unlimited runs on that AI engine. You pay the provider directly for usage at their rates. **Billing:** Stripe subscriptions and invoices. EU operator under German law. --- ## FAQ Source page: https://cyte.si/faq ### Product basics **Q: What does Cyte actually do?** A: Cyte is competitor intelligence for online presence. It runs a four-step loop: (1) Track — your buyer-intent prompts run across 7 AI engines, and for every answer Cyte records whether you and each competitor are mentioned, in what position, how you are described, and which pages are cited. (2) Compare — Cyte reads your site and each competitor's site and compares them site against site, topic against topic, and one topic across every site. (3) Detect — competitor sites are re-read on a schedule and the changes that matter are surfaced. (4) Act — each day a short list of specific ideas for your own site, each with its evidence and an action brief. Other tools tell you your score. Cyte tells you why competitors are ahead and what to change. **Q: Which AI engines do you track?** A: Seven — ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, DeepSeek, Grok and Google AI Overviews. You can pick a subset if you only care about certain ones. **Q: How often are queries run?** A: It depends on the plan. Core ranks you against your competitor weekly; Plus and above rank daily, and Pro and Agency ask up to 50 prompts every day. **Q: What counts as "buyer intent"?** A: Queries that real buyers in your category actually ask: "best [category] for [use case]", "alternatives to [competitor]", "[your brand] vs [competitor]", "is [your brand] worth it". We generate an initial set from your domain and let you add or remove any. **Q: Can I track competitors?** A: Yes — competitors are the core of the product. You see each competitor's presence, position and sentiment for every prompt you track, a teardown of why each one is ahead, a topic map across their sites and yours, and a ranked feed of the changes on their sites. ### How it works **Q: How do you calculate the visibility score?** A: 35 points for being mentioned, plus a position bonus of up to 28 (28, 22, 17, 13, 9 for first to fifth, 4 after that), a frequency bonus of up to 18 (4 per additional mention), and a sentiment adjustment of +12 positive, +3 mixed, −8 negative. Capped at 0–100. Citations are tracked separately, not as a score component. Full methodology is published — not hidden behind "proprietary." Go read the Methodology page for every number. **Q: What is an idea?** A: A specific change to your own site: a new page, an improvement to an existing page, or a response to a competitor's change. Cyte shows a few per day and never repeats one. Each comes with its evidence and an action brief. On a day with nothing worth showing, Cyte says so. **Q: What is an action brief?** A: What to build or change, what it must contain, and a checklist for when it is done. It is an outline and a checklist you can hand to a writer or developer. Cyte does not write articles, posts or drafts. **Q: How do I know whether a change worked?** A: When you mark an idea done, Cyte re-checks the related prompts at 7, 14, 28 and 42 days. It shows what happened and how confident the link is. It never claims a change caused a ranking, and it does not guarantee a lift. **Q: Will this replace my SEO tool?** A: No. SEO tools optimize for Google's index. Cyte is about how AI engines answer. They're related but not substitutable — most serious teams run both. ### Data & integrations **Q: Does Cyte integrate with Google Analytics or Search Console?** A: Coming soon. We'll be adding read-only OAuth connections to both so you can cross-reference AI visibility with traffic data. Not shipping at launch. **Q: Can I export my data?** A: Yes. CSV exports on all plans for prompts, runs, and citations. REST API access (read + write) from Plus. Self-serve full-workspace data export (ZIP of everything) in Workspace Settings. Your data is yours — always. **Q: Do you integrate with Slack?** A: Not yet. Slack alerts and slash commands are on the roadmap. Today there is a weekly digest email and in-app notifications for major competitor changes — no Slack or webhook delivery yet. **Q: What about Notion, HubSpot, or Salesforce?** A: Notion is on the roadmap. HubSpot and Salesforce are further out — we'll build what real customers ask for. Email us if either is a dealbreaker. ### Support **Q: What's the typical response time?** A: Within a working day, usually sooner. Cyte works with a small number of customers, so every issue gets attention. **Q: Is there self-serve documentation?** A: A Glossary and Methodology page live on this site. Product docs and API reference will be published alongside launch at docs.cyte.si. **Q: Can I get onboarding help?** A: Yes. Video guides and onboarding flows inside the product cover every step. ### Access **Q: How do I get started?** A: Choose a plan at https://cyte.si/pricing and check out in the app, or talk to the team first. A free trial is on request at https://cyte.si/trial. **Q: How much does Cyte cost?** A: From €799 a month, billed annually. Core €799, Plus €1,990, Pro €3,990, Agency from €5,990 (two clients included, €990 per extra client), Enterprise from €60,000 a year. Monthly billing costs 25% more. **Q: What counts as a "prompt"?** A: One question run across one AI engine. So '"best project management tool" on ChatGPT' is one prompt. Same question on Perplexity is another. **Q: What are BYO API keys?** A: Bring-your-own keys means you plug in your own OpenAI / Anthropic / Google / Perplexity keys and we run queries through them instead of ours. Your keys, your rate limits, your costs. Each connected provider runs unlimited on your account. **Q: Can I get an invoice / bill my company?** A: Yes. Stripe invoices include company name, VAT ID and billing address. EU reverse-charge supported. --- ## Glossary Source page: https://cyte.si/glossary **Action brief** — What comes with every idea: what to build or change, what it must contain, and a checklist. An outline and a checklist, not written content. **AEO** — Answer Engine Optimization. Optimizing content so LLM-based answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini) can parse, cite, and recommend your brand. A sibling of SEO, not a replacement. **AI Search** — Information retrieval through LLMs and generative answer engines, as opposed to link-based search engines. **Cyte Score** — A 0–100 score per brand, per prompt, per AI engine. Formula: 35 for being mentioned, plus position bonus (up to +28 for #1), frequency bonus (up to +18), and sentiment adjustment (+12 positive, +3 mixed, −8 negative). Capped at 0–100. See the Methodology page for the full math. **BYO (Bring Your Own)** — Plugging your own API keys (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Perplexity, DeepSeek) into Cyte. Each connected provider drops out of your monthly run cap — unlimited runs on that AI engine, with you paying the provider directly for usage at their rates. Keys encrypted at rest, revocable anytime. **Change** — A difference found when Cyte re-reads a competitor's site. Changes are ranked; the feed shows the few that matter (pricing, positioning, new comparison pages, new topics) and keeps the rest one click away. **Citation** — A URL referenced by an AI engine in its answer. Cyte tracks every citation across every run. We classify each one — Editorial, UGC, Corporate, Competitor, or Uncategorized — based on the source domain. **Citation — Editorial** — Cited source from an editorial publication (Forbes, TechCrunch, The Verge, etc). High-trust content LLMs rely on heavily for recommendations. **Citation — UGC** — User-generated content sources (Reddit, Quora, Hacker News). Increasingly cited by Perplexity and ChatGPT — almost half of Perplexity's top citations come from Reddit alone. **Citation — Corporate** — Cited source from the brand's own domain or owned properties. Signals that the brand is telling its own story effectively. **Citation — Competitor** — Cited source from a competitor's domain. Useful signal for gap analysis — if competitors are cited but you aren't, that's an opportunity. **Content Gap** — A specific AI query where your brand is absent, losing, declining, or a new opportunity. Each gap is classified and prioritized by math — competitor lead plus type-specific urgency boosts. **GEO** — Generative Engine Optimization. Synonym for AEO. Used more often in North American circles. **Idea** — A specific change to your own site that Cyte suggests, with its evidence and an action brief. A few per day, never repeated. **LLMO** — LLM Optimization. Broadest umbrella term, overlaps significantly with AEO and GEO. **Market** — A geographic region your prompts get run against (worldwide, country, city). Cyte supports 12 geographic markets at launch, injecting them as natural-language suffixes to your prompts. **Outcome check** — After you mark an idea done, Cyte re-checks the related prompts at 7, 14, 28 and 42 days and shows whether visibility moved. **Position bonus** — Extra points added to your Cyte score based on where you appear in a ranked list. Position #1 earns +28, #2 earns +22, #3 earns +17, #4 earns +13, #5 earns +9, and any position after that earns +4. **Prompt** — A single query Cyte tracks. The same query run against every supported AI engine still counts as one prompt — we run it across all of them and aggregate the results. **Run** — One execution of all your tracked prompts against every supported AI engine. How often runs happen depends on the plan (weekly on Core, daily ranking from Plus). **Sentiment adjustment** — An adjustment to your Cyte score based on how the AI engine describes you. Positive (+12), mixed (+3), negative (−8). Negation-aware — "not the best" correctly scores negative. **Share of Voice** — Your brand's share of total mentions across a prompt set, relative to competitors. Measured as a percentage. **Teardown** — For one competitor: why they are ahead today and what you are missing, written from the AI answers and both websites, with the evidence shown and a confidence level. **Topic map** — Topics by site, across your site and your competitors' sites, including topics covered by competitors and not by you, each with a verdict on whether it is worth pursuing. **Workspace** — The top-level container for your team, projects, billing, and settings. One workspace per company. On the Agency plan each client brand gets its own client workspace. --- ## Compare — Cyte vs. other AI visibility tools Source page: https://cyte.si/compare Other tools tell you your score. Cyte tells you why competitors are ahead and what to change. **What a visibility score tells you:** where you stand. **What Cyte adds:** how AI answers describe each brand, what is actually on each brand's website, and what changed on a competitor's site and when — held together, so the output is a short list of specific things to change. **The loop:** Track → Compare → Detect → Act → repeat. Cyte also publishes its full scoring methodology — the exact formula, weightings, and edge cases — rather than hiding it behind "proprietary." Every number on your dashboard can be traced to the inputs that produced it. --- ## Security & data handling Source page: https://cyte.si/security - **Data residency:** EU (Frankfurt, Germany). - **Encryption at rest:** AES-256-GCM for all sensitive data, including BYO API keys. - **Encryption in transit:** TLS 1.3. - **GDPR:** compliant. - **Key handling:** BYO API keys are encrypted and can be revoked at any time from Workspace Settings. Keys are never logged or exposed in application output. - **Data export:** self-serve ZIP export of your entire workspace at any time. - **Retention:** data is retained for the lifetime of your subscription plus 30 days, after which it is permanently deleted unless you request otherwise. --- ## Changelog Source page: https://cyte.si/changelog ### Repositioning — competitor intelligence for online presence (current) Cyte has been rebuilt as competitor intelligence for online presence.
